EMF appeals and statements
- Appeal of the Scientists for Electromagnetic Safety to the Italian government , to the Parliament, to the Regions and to the Autonomous Provinces
This Appeal, signed by over 58 EMF scientists thus far, in addition to strong opposition by other experts and citizens caused the Italian Government to cancel discussion on August 7, 2023, on the proposal to increase the radio frequency exposure limits. However, the new decree was enacted by the Italian Parliament on December 30, 2023. ICBE-EMF sent a letter of opposition to all Italian Regional Presidents on March 13, 2024 asking them to intercede and oppose the new law (Download PDF: English version – Italian version). Nevertheless, the new law is now in effect, permitting high radiofrequency exposure limits in excess of the attention value of 6 V/m that the Italian Parliament had approved in 2000. This change undermines the important principle that a country can adopt stricter radio frequency exposure limits than those proposed by ICNIRP/IEEE. - ICBE-EMF’s statement on Electrical Hypersensitivity, Issued July 27, 2024, revised August 2024
