Dr. Kesari is currently working as a Senior Scientist in the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems, School of Chemical Engineering, at Aalto University, Espoo, Finland. He obtained a Doctorate in Biotechnology (Environmental Toxicology) from Jawaharlal Nehru university in New Delhi, India, that also included his receiving Junior and Senior Research fellowships during his Doctoral studies and Research Associate Fellowship at that university. He was mainly involved in studying the effects of Electromagnetic Fields on the brain and on reproduction. He served as an Assistant Professor at Jaipur National University, Jaipur, India and received a major research grant from the Indian government’s Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to conduct a study on cell phone and microwaves exposures effects on the brain and reproductive system of male Wistar rats. He obtained his first Postdoctoral research fellowship from the University of Eastern Finland, Kuopio, Finland. Here he was mainly involved to see the effects of ELF MF on Alzheimer’s Disease. 

Currently, he is working on a cell ultrastructure study using micro & macro spectroscopic techniques. His work is primarily  aimed at the fundamentals of cell wall ultrastructure of woody & non-woody materials and their medicinal applications. His study also explores the medicinal applications of plant derived bioactive compounds and nanoparticles for disease treatment. Kesari is actively involved working in cell and radiation biology research with focus on qualitative and quantitative measurements by applying in vitro, in vivo & biocomputational methods. 

He has published over one hundred papers in reputable journals, twenty-eight book chapters, six books and presented over thirty-five papers at national and international scientific meetings. His Hirsch index (h-index) as of July 2022 is thirty-one on Google Scholar, twenty-six on Scopus. 

Dr. Kesari has served as subject expert for many international committees, an Editorial board member and is considered a reviewer of good repute. He has edited special issues in many journals like, Materials Today Chemistry (Elsevier), Antioxidants, Genes (MDPI) and ESPR (Springer). He has conducted several research projects and guided doctoral students. He has received a young scientist award four times. His research interest focuses on neurobiology, radiation and cancer biology and therapeutic research.
